I've totally experienced that "bouncing from idea to idea" thing when talking to you and it feels completely normal. I love how fast your brain works and the interesting directions it goes.

So true. I too was the weird kid.

Especially apparent when growing up in a Taranaki township and you have no experience or relationship with the farming community.

Also being a 80's kid, you tend to be left to do your own thing, so I figured I will just do my own thing. So I got into model kits, sci-fi, and running.

The problem with that of course is that I didn't really socialise with anyone else, I didn't need to. I just did my own thing, which now when looking back is probably the reason why I do not like large groups, and only really have a few friends.

'There is no such thing as normal' resonates with me mainly because I was never regarded as normal to start off with. It also means I see the uniqueness in people rather than their 'masks of sociability'.

Like a Good New Zealand Author once added in a book of hers "You tend to enjoy the flavours of the wine, than to simply read the description on the label of the bottle". It is a simple description of essentially looking into the uniqueness of people regardless of what social labels have you to believe.

Weird kids unite! And I totally agree. I think it's made us more interesting and makes us appreciate people for who they are.

Another awesome friend of mine said something similar about an earlier post. That it's a useful filtering device to find the people who appreciate our 'too muchness'. Those folk are the keepers I reckon!
